Description
In February 2021, the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) updated its scientific statement on iodine supply and particularly pointed out that iodine intake in the German population continues to decline and that the iodine levels in foods are currently insufficient to ensure adequate intake.1
Several years ago, the National Consumption Study II (NVS II) demonstrated that without the use of iodised table salt, 97% of women and 96% of men do not meet the reference values for adequate iodine intake. The report from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on health in Germany from 2015 also emphasises that the average iodine intake in Germany is below the reference value. Young women are particularly affected.2
The Federal Centre for Nutrition (BZfE) also warned of increasing selenium deficiency, partly due to climate change, in 2017 together with ETH Zurich.3 4
Since iodine and selenium are essential trace elements vital for normal thyroid function, a deficiency can have negative effects. If iodine is not adequately absorbed over a prolonged period, the thyroid cannot produce enough thyroid hormones. The BfR even states in its position paper that "serious health consequences may occur."¹ Furthermore, iodine has been shown to contribute to the maintenance of healthy skin, while selenium contributes to the maintenance of healthy hair and nails.
But why is the supply in Germany so poor? Our soils are very low in iodine and selenium, which is why foods from Germany contain no significant amounts of these essential trace elements. Even with the consumption of animal products, adequate supply may not be guaranteed.

Most people think that the supplementation of minerals and vitamins only makes sense for athletes. However, minerals and vitamins are essential nutrients for everyone. Even non-athletes benefit from supplying the body with an optimal combination of minerals and vitamins. MINERAL COMPLETE offers the perfect blend of essential minerals, trace elements, and selected vitamins that complement each other and whose intake often falls short due to dietary habits, as evidenced by consumption studies or scientific statements. Bioavailable mineral compounds and forms of vitamins ensure optimal supply of selected micronutrients to your body. The quality of MINERAL COMPLETE is confirmed by regular laboratory analyses from independent testing laboratories. You can find the test reports under "Analyses".
Minerals and vitamins in nutrition
Minerals and vitamins are essential nutrients that the body cannot produce itself. The necessary nutrients are generally divided into micro and macronutrients. Micronutrients, which our body needs and stores in only small amounts, include minerals, which also encompass trace elements, as well as vitamins. Macronutrients form a group of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Carbohydrates and proteins, like fats, are needed and stored in significantly larger quantities than, for example, minerals. Minerals and vitamins are also continuously consumed and excreted, which is why they need to be supplied regularly.
Depending on their concentration, minerals are referred to as major or trace elements. Major elements include magnesium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus, and potassium. On the other hand, copper, iodine, zinc, fluoride, and iron constitute the trace elements. In principle, the need for micronutrients that are indispensable for a healthy lifestyle can be covered through diet. However, this requires certain dietary planning, especially concerning potentially critical minerals and vitamins. As consumption studies repeatedly show, this is not easy depending on the micronutrient. Additionally, during times of increased stress, illness, or high physical activity, additional minerals, including trace elements and vitamins, may be needed. Particularly during diets and the associated reduced food intake, the risk of inadequate supply can increase. A well-composed dietary supplement like MINERAL COMPLETE ensures a secure supply of minerals and vitamins even during a diet.
The National Consumption Study II shows that there is often an inadequate supply of certain minerals and individual vitamins.5 It demonstrates that 75% to 83% of women, depending on age group, do not meet the reference values of the DGE6 for iron, while only 11% to 16% of men do. Conversely, 62% to 82% of men, depending on age group, do not meet the recommended reference values for zinc. A deficiency can also be observed in calcium for 46% of men and 55% of women. Additionally, 26% of men and 29% of women do not meet the recommended intake of magnesium. For folic acid, the intake through diet is overall very poor – 79% of men and 86% of women do not reach the recommended intake. Many also show deficiencies in vitamins. Particularly young women are not optimally supplied with vitamin B12, while young men are particularly lacking in vitamin A.
Alongside targeted supplementation of potentially critical micronutrients, one should also pay attention to a healthy, balanced, and varied diet. Foods high in mineral content include lentils, legumes, vegetables, nuts, and dairy products. Meat is also rich in minerals. To ensure optimal supply, you can purchase additional minerals as supplements.
How you can benefit from MINERAL COMPLETE
Contrary to popular belief, MINERAL COMPLETE and the intake of supplements are not only important for elite athletes. Our product supplies every body with calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, selenium, and particularly selected vitamins, countering deficiencies of these nutrients. Major and trace elements contribute to several important functions in the body. For instance, minerals are needed for various metabolic processes. Magnesium is involved in over 300 enzyme reactions, including the entire energy metabolism and even the synthesis of our DNA. Vitamin B12, iron, and magnesium are scientifically confirmed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to contribute to the reduction of fatigue and tiredness.
The zinc contained also demonstrably contributes to the normal metabolism of macronutrients as well as to the maintenance of normal skin, hair, and nails. Calcium is necessary for the maintenance of normal bones and contributes to normal signalling between nerve cells. Furthermore, magnesium has been shown to contribute to normal muscle function and the normal functioning of the nervous system, as confirmed by the EFSA.
However, dietary supplements should not replace a varied and balanced diet. If you wish to buy and take minerals, you should avoid not only deficiencies but also overdosing. For this reason, MINERAL COMPLETE has been carefully formulated to ensure a balanced and sensible amount of the contained minerals and vitamins. For example, a moderate dosage of vitamin B12 is included, as very high dosages, as found in some other products, can promote acne.7
Important minerals – not just for athletes
The body requires more minerals and vitamins during regular physical and mental exertion. Therefore, not only elite athletes but also recreational athletes, for instance, have a higher mineral requirement since many important minerals are lost through sweat. On average, one loses up to 50 milligrams of magnesium, 70 milligrams of calcium, 1 milligram of zinc, and 0.7 milligrams of iron per litre of sweat.8 Athletes should therefore ensure that their mineral stores are sufficiently filled. In such cases, targeted supplementation can be sensible to avoid deficiencies. Based on various studies, magnesium deficiency among athletes is estimated to be as high as 65%.9
Particularly those who wish to lose weight or have an unbalanced diet are at increased risk of deficiencies. The most common deficiencies occur in iron, zinc, calcium, and magnesium. All these minerals are combined in MINERAL COMPLETE and can optimally meet your needs for the mentioned minerals. The National Consumption Study II identified supply gaps for some micronutrients.10
Since the need for athletes is above the recommendation for the average person, it can be assumed that there is an even greater under-supply here. In sports medicine practice, iron deficiency is one of the most frequently diagnosed mineral deficiencies. Due to increased iron losses through the gastrointestinal tract, sweat, and urine, athletes have a significantly higher requirement for iron, which is not always met with a balanced diet – even with a normal amount of meat. Vegans and vegetarians are said to be at an even higher risk. Similarly, female athletes have a higher iron requirement due to menstruation. During menstruation, 12.5 milligrams to 30 milligrams of iron are lost. From a sporting perspective, iron deficiency reduces endurance performance due to restricted oxygen transport capacity and oxygen utilisation.11
Additional mineral supplements like MINERAL COMPLETE also help athletes to meet their increased iron needs. If you want to buy the best minerals, our products are the right choice.

Buy minerals and benefit in everyday life
Tiredness, lack of concentration, and apathy are just some symptoms that can be caused by a deficiency in minerals. A mineral or vitamin deficiency can significantly affect performance in everyday life. For instance, magnesium and iron, vitamin B12, and folic acid have been shown to contribute to the reduction of fatigue and tiredness. The latter also contributes to normal cognitive function and normal energy metabolism. In the workplace, you often need to prove yourself in stressful situations and should therefore be fully concentrated and receptive.
By supplying mineral supplements, the body can be supported and adequately supplied. Do something good for your immune system and your defences, and provide yourself with the trace and major elements in our MINERAL COMPLETE. The nutrients contained, such as iron, selenium, and folic acid, contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system.

MINERAL COMPLETE: 100% vegan
With MINERAL COMPLETE, it is super easy to support your body with all essential minerals even on a strictly plant-based diet – the capsule shell is made up of 100% plant materials and is therefore perfectly suited for vegan nutrition. This way, you can guarantee the intake of the essential nutrients and minerals contained – especially those that are otherwise mainly found in animal products – for a vegan lifestyle. Studies show, for instance, a higher proportion of vegetarians compared to non-vegetarians with an iron deficiency. This is particularly true for female vegetarians with menstruation.12 It is likely that vegans experience similar issues. A comparison between omnivores and vegetarians found that vitamin B12 levels were lowest in a vegan lifestyle. In the study, 52% of vegans were diagnosed with a vitamin B12 deficiency.13 This is understandable, as vitamin B12 is only weakly represented in a plant-based diet. Additionally, the dietary intake of zinc and blood zinc concentrations were significantly lower in vegetarians compared to non-vegetarians.14 However, it is important to note that a well-planned, balanced, and varied diet can ensure adequate supply. The combination of a healthy diet with a sensibly and scientifically designed dietary supplement can, however, make everyday supply easier and more efficient.

Here you know what’s inside: Buy minerals with the best ingredients
Each mineral serves a specific function, but it is only in combination that they allow the body to function as it should – that is, healthily. MINERAL COMPLETE thoughtfully combines essential micronutrients, including minerals, trace elements, and vitamins for the body. The concentrated power of important minerals – iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc – and even selenium, rounded off with vital vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin B12, and folic acid, contribute to many metabolic processes and prevent a deficiency of the contained minerals. It should not be forgotten that some minerals and vitamins are demonstrably dependent on each other. For this reason, we have combined vitamin A, iron, and zinc, for example. Vitamin A contributes to normal iron metabolism. Zinc, in turn, contributes to normal vitamin A metabolism.
As you can see, we have created a perfectly coordinated mineral-vitamin formulation in MINERAL COMPLETE that optimally supports your body in the mentioned functions. And the best part is: You don’t have to buy each mineral separately and worry about combining them correctly and avoiding overlaps with micronutrients, as we have combined all the mentioned micronutrients sensibly and safely dosed in just one mineral supplement.
Minerals & trace elements
If you want to buy minerals from us, you can trust in a very good bioavailability, unlike most drugstore products. Iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and selenium are essential nutrients that contribute to a number of important functions in the body. Magnesium and calcium are quickly absorbed by the body in their citrate form. Iron and zinc are present as chelate compounds (bisglycinates), as they have outstanding bioavailability. Selenium is included in two forms: as sodium selenite and selenomethionine. Selenomethionine is the storage form, while sodium selenite is immediately available to the body.
The following functions are supported – scientifically confirmed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) – by the minerals and trace elements in MINERAL COMPLETE:
- Iron has been shown to contribute to normal cognitive function and normal energy metabolism. Iron also contributes to normal immune function and the reduction of fatigue and tiredness.15 Our mineral supplement also contains vitamin C, which has been shown to improve iron absorption in the body.16
- Calcium has been shown to contribute to normal blood coagulation. It also contributes to normal energy metabolism and normal muscle function. Calcium also supports the normal function of digestive enzymes and is required for the maintenance of normal teeth.17
- The effects of magnesium are sufficiently scientifically confirmed. This mineral contributes to the reduction of fatigue and tiredness as well as normal energy metabolism. Furthermore, magnesium has been shown to contribute to normal nervous system function and normal muscle function.18
- Zinc also plays an important role in the organism. This mineral has been shown to contribute to the maintenance of normal nails, hair, and skin. Zinc also contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal vitamin A metabolism.19
- Another important mineral is selenium. Selenium primarily helps protect cells from oxidative stress. It also demonstrably supports the thyroid, hair, and nails, and contributes to normal immune function.20
- Copper is known to play an important role in maintaining healthy connective tissue and normal hair and skin pigmentation. It also helps protect cells from oxidative stress.21
Vitamins
Vitamin A has been scientifically confirmed by the EFSA to contribute to normal iron metabolism, the maintenance of normal mucous membranes, and normal vision. Additionally, vitamin A contributes to normal immune function.22
Often, beta-carotene is primarily used in dietary supplements, which is only a precursor of vitamin A and must be converted by the body. For our MINERAL COMPLETE, we use both active vitamin A and beta-carotene. Two-thirds of the vitamin A (400 micrograms) is provided by the active form, and one-third (200 micrograms) comes from beta-carotene. There are two main reasons for this:
- Beta-carotene as provitamin A is a precursor of vitamin A that can be converted into active vitamin A as needed. This reduces the already very low risk of overdose at the present dosage since only as needed can the 1.2 milligrams of beta-carotene be converted into 200 micrograms.
- Beta-carotene has independent functions and can therefore be considered essential for humans. In addition to being converted into retinal (vitamin A), it can be partially absorbed in its unaltered form. Thus, it can act antioxidatively in the cell.
Vitamin B12 is included as methylcobalamin as well as hydroxy- and adenosylcobalamin. The combination of both active B12 forms and hydroxocobalamin, which can be stored and converted into the two active forms by the body as needed, ensures direct and long-term supply of your body with vitamin B12. This so-called MHA complex has an advantage over high-dose isolated cobalamin forms: When only one cobalamin is provided, it can happen that your body does not utilise everything and excretes the water-soluble vitamin. Vitamin B12 has been shown to fulfil a number of important functions in supporting the entire organism and contributes to normal red blood cell formation.
Folic acid is also included as active (6s)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate-glucosamine salt. This also has the advantage that the vitamin is directly available and does not need to be activated. B vitamins, including folic acid, are water-soluble and are used immediately.
Vitamin B2 complements our MINERAL COMPLETE. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) has been shown to contribute to the maintenance of healthy skin and a healthy iron metabolism.23 According to NVS II, over a quarter of women and a fifth of men do not meet the recommended daily intake of vitamin B2.24 The storage capacity of vitamin B2 is very limited compared to other B vitamins, which is why continuous and regular supply is important. Although vitamin B2 is found in both animal and plant foods, these are not particularly widespread. Relevant amounts of vitamin B2 can be found in offal such as liver or in grain sprouts, which most people are unlikely to eat regularly.
The recommended daily intake of vitamin B6 is primarily oriented towards protein intake. As recent scientific findings show that the outdated official protein intake recommendations are too low for the health benefits of protein, adjusting vitamin B6 intake is sensible since vitamin B6 has been scientifically confirmed by the EFSA to play a key role in protein and glycogen metabolism.25 Furthermore, vitamin B6 also affects hormone activity regulation as well as the performance of the immune system. In MINERAL COMPLETE, vitamin B6 has been included in its active form to cater to a high-protein diet and to have a safety buffer so that vitamin B6 does not become the limiting factor in protein metabolism.
The B vitamins B2, B5, B6, B12 have been shown to support energy metabolism and reduce fatigue – scientifically confirmed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).26 27 28 29 30 31
