Description
Do you only know turmeric as a spice? In our CURCU-MORE turmeric capsules, turmeric (lat. Curcuma Longa L.) has much more to offer. Did you know that the plant belongs to the ginger family? For this reason, and due to its striking yellow colour, it is also referred to as yellow ginger or yellow root. Turmeric has been valued in India, Asia, and China for thousands of years and is used in traditional health practices, as well as in Ayurveda. Thus, the root is known not only as a spice, for example in Indian curry, but turmeric is utilised beyond the kitchen.
The CURCU-MORE turmeric capsules from MORE NUTRITION contain not only natural turmeric powder but also a patented turmeric extract with 95% curcuminoid content and a high-quality broccoli extract that is rich in the secondary plant compound sulforaphane. This valuable plant compound has been receiving increasing attention in Europe in recent years.

Interesting facts about turmeric
Turmeric originally comes from South Asia. There, the versatile plant has been known for a long time. In Southeast Asia and India, turmeric is even considered a sacred plant. In traditional health practices and Ayurveda, turmeric is an integral part. Research is also being conducted on its effects in Europe.
A distinctive feature of turmeric powder is its bright yellow colour. This is due to the curcuminoids it contains. These include curcumin and other curcumin-like substances - demethoxycurcumin, bisdemethoxycurcumin, and cyclocurcumin.
Curcumin is a secondary plant compound and one of the biologically active substances in the turmeric root. This substance belongs to the potent polyphenols, which are predominantly found in the outer layers of plants and are therefore largely lost when peeling fruits and vegetables.
Normal turmeric powder contains 3 to 5% curcuminoids, of which about half is curcumin. This makes a large amount of turmeric powder necessary for a high quantity of curcuminoids, which is why, for example, "golden milk" does not provide a relevant amount of curcuminoids. In CURCU-MORE, in addition to the high amount of turmeric powder, the patented turmeric extract CurQreal® has been added for even more curcuminoids. This results in an effectively dosed amount of 450 mg of curcuminoids per serving (7 capsules).
Through this special combination, the benefits of natural turmeric powder are combined with the effectiveness of the patented turmeric extract.
Turmeric capsules with high-quality ingredients
Not all manufacturers are aware of the additional curcuminoids and often sell curcumin only extracted as powder. When turmeric capsules are labelled as high-dose, they usually contain only curcumin. However, curcumin is not the only valuable plant compound found in turmeric capsules made from pure, natural powder. One should not reduce turmeric to just its curcuminoids, as the root and thus also the ground powder contain turmerosaccharides.
Our CURCU-MORE capsules therefore consciously contain no extract, but natural turmeric powder in organic quality and without colourings. This way, you get all the valuable secondary plant compounds that are naturally present in turmeric.
Why do the turmeric capsules also contain pepper extract?
Secondary plant compounds like curcumin generally have poor bioavailability. This means that these substances are very difficult for the body to absorb. Curcuminoids are fat-soluble substances that aggregate in the intestinal environment and thus have a hard time entering the bloodstream from the intestines.
For this reason, CURCU-MORE contains extract from black pepper. For pepper also possesses an important secondary plant compound – piperine. Thanks to piperine, the bioavailability of curcumin is increased by 20 times. One CURCU-MORE turmeric capsule contains 3.0 milligrams of pepper extract, of which about 95% is piperine.
Turmeric capsules with valuable substances from broccoli extract
To provide your body with the best nutrients as a dietary supplement, the CURCU-MORE capsules from MORE NUTRITION contain not only turmeric powder but also broccoli extract.
As sulforaphane is not present in significant amounts in most broccoli extracts, high-quality extract is difficult to obtain. However, our CURCU-MORE capsules contain a high-dose extract. The broccoli extract has a sulforaphane content of 13%, which is confirmed by laboratory analyses. So you can be sure that you are getting exactly what is on the label!
Interesting facts about broccoli
Did you know that broccoli also originates from the Asian region and belongs to the family of cruciferous plants? The broccoli plant, especially broccoli sprouts, contains numerous valuable secondary plant compounds. In recent years, the plant compound sulforaphane has gained much attention. Sulforaphane is also found in other plants, but significant amounts are primarily found in broccoli.
To be precise, sulforaphane is not directly contained in broccoli. Instead, it forms from the glucosinolate glucoraphanin, which makes it even more difficult to access this valuable plant compound. Because it is only through the plant's own enzymes, the myrosinases, that sulforaphane is formed by the breakdown of glucoraphanin. This process only occurs when the plant cell is "cracked." This happens to some extent when chewing – but the most effective way is to chop the plant and let it rest a bit. However, when broccoli is cooked, the important enzyme myrosinase is destroyed at temperatures starting from 45 degrees Celsius, which is why no sulforaphane can be formed from cooked broccoli. This is also why it is so difficult to supply the body with significant amounts of sulforaphane.
